If the Covid crisis has taught us anything it is that the sign of a decent society is how we treat people, our children, our elderly, and the sick and the needy.
But the crisis has demonstrated, too, that we have not all been in this together in the same way, equally.
As we find ourselves coming out of lockdown, we cannot simply return to what some are already calling a new normal.
That means a promise not to manage poverty but to end it.
Giving health and care staff the pay and conditions they deserve.
And fair play to families by ensuring every child is given the same start in life.

I want to lead a government for all generations – a government delivering radical change, not for change’s sake but for the sake of the thousands of families whose futures rest on it.
Our nation will change if we want it to change, but that change has to start with us and by electing a Plaid Cymru Government next year.
Are you with me?
Mae argyfwng Cofid wedi dangos i ni wir werth cymdeithas deg. Un sy’n gofalu am ei phobl bob cam o’u bywydau. Ein plant. Ein henoed. Y sal a’r gwan.
Ond mae Covid hefyd wedi dinoethi yr anghyfiawnderau sydd yn llechu yn ein cymdeithas.
Wrth i ni godi’r cyfyngiadau, ni allwn ni ddychwelyd i sut yr oedd pethau o’r blaen.
Dyna addewid felly i waredu tlodi yn llwyr yn hytrach na’i reoli.
Rhoi’r tâl a’r amodau gwaith mae ein staff iechyd a gofal yn ei haeddu.
A chwarae teg i deuluoedd trwy sicrhau bod pob plentyn yn cael yr un dechrau mewn bywyd.

Rwyf am arwain llywodraeth ar gyfer pob cenhedlaeth – llywodraeth sy’n cyflawni newid radical er mwyn y miloedd o deuluoedd sydd angen gweld y newid hwnnw.
Mae newid yn bosibl. Ond mae rhaid i’r newid hwnnw ddod ganddom ni – drwy ethol Llywodraeth Plaid Cymru flwyddyn nesaf.
Wyt ti da fi?

Remember to watch #PlaidCymruLIVE tonight at 7.30pm on Facebook or Twitter.
Sian Gwenllian MS, Leanne Wood MS, our Cardiff South and Penarth Senedd candidate Nasir Adam, and actor Jalisa Andrews will be appearing on our panel, to discuss the importance of ensuring Welsh history is a compulsory part of the new curriculum and the significance of the Black Lives Matter movement to Wales, as well as taking your questions.
There’s still a chance for you to submit questions in advance on Facebook, Twitter, or through the Plaid Cymru app.
Make Welsh history and BAME history mandatory part of new curriculum
Making Welsh history and the history of black people and people of colour a statutory part of the new curriculum would be a “historic move” Plaid Cymru Shadow Education Minister Sian Gwenllian MS has said.
A debate in the Senedd tomorrow, led by Plaid Cymru, will call on the Welsh Government to make the teaching of Welsh history and the teaching of black history and the history of people of colour compulsory within the new curriculum.
30,000 people have signed a petition calling on the Welsh Government to make it compulsory for schools to teach Black and POC UK history in Welsh schools.
What you can do:
Call on your Member of the Senedd to back Plaid Cymru’s call. Tweet or email them:
“@___ Will you back Plaid Cymru’s motion to make Welsh history and the history of black people and people of colour a mandatory part of the new Curriculum?”
Why On Earth Would Wales Follow England’s Example !
Last week saw yet another UK government U turn on their Covid policy, this time with the introduction of Air Bridges to certain countries, all of whom by the way have handled their response to Covid far more effectively than the UK but whilst The Tory parties disastrous failures continue to come under the microscope Welsh Conservative MPs, including my own local MP Alun Cairns, recently wrote to The Welsh Government demanding that Wales follow England’s example in lifting lockdown.
But can anyone please tell me why on earth we would want to follow the response of a Government that has led the UK to the highest death toll in Europe and the second highest in the world, whether looking at the total number of deaths, deaths per 1000 of population or excess deaths.
According to the recent ONS figures excess deaths in Wales stands at 19.25%, in England it is 44..1% and tragically , as most of us understand only too well, behind these figures are real people and real families. Following on from 10 years of Tory austerity the future for people in Wales is grim so its perhaps no wonder that, support for Yes Cymru and Independence is on the rise.
Politics aside though, I would have far more respect for Conservative MP’s in Wales if they were Wales voice in Westminster rather than the mouth piece of English Government policy in Wales.

How can we make the future better than the past?
“I am so tired of waiting, Aren’t you, For the world to become good and beautiful and kind?”
I’ve been thinking a lot about these words from a poem by Langston Hughes recently. To me, they represent the change we should strive for in our politics as we consider how we can do things differently in the post-Covid world.
The question we face now is this: what should happen next in Wales to improve the lives of our citizens?
In order to understand how we begin to build a new future, it makes sense to take a step back, and try to imagine the sort of country we’d like to see ten years from now. My Plaid Cymru colleagues and I have a lot of ideas which we’re working on, but I believe that it is the citizens of Wales themselves who should pave the way.
That’s why we’ve launched a portal on our website to give a platform to new ideas, where people can feed into our policy-forming process.
We’ll be open to considering all sensible ideas that reflect our values, and we welcome contributions from any field that affects the way people live and will have relevance for Wales over the coming weeks, months and years. If you have an idea for how the future could be better than the past, we want to hear it. And if there’s something you think Plaid Cymru should be doing differently, let us know.
The people of Wales have an untapped desire to build that good, beautiful and kind country I believe in. Let’s build it together.
Sut allwn ni wneud ein dyfodol yn well na’r gorffennol?
“I am so tired of waiting, Aren’t you, For the world to become good and beautiful and kind?”
Mae’r geiriau hyn gan y bardd Langston Hughes wedi aros yn fy nghof yn ddiweddar. I mi, maen nhw’n cynrychioli’r newid y dylai pob un ohonom fod yn ei ymladd drosto wrth i ni ystyried sut i wneud pethau’n wahanol yn y byd Ă´l-Covid.
Y cwestiwn sy’n ein hwynebu nawr yw hwn: beth ddylai ddigwydd nesaf yng Nghymru i wella bywydau ein dinasyddion?
Er mwyn deall sut i adeiladu dyfodol newydd, mae’n synhwyrol i gymryd cam yn Ă´l, a cheisio dychmygu’r math o wlad yr hoffem ni ei gweld ddeng mlynedd o nawr. Mae gen i a fy nghydweithwr ym Mhlaid Cymru lawer o syniadau, ond rwy’n credu’n gryf mai dinasyddion Cymru ddylai arwain y ffordd.
Dyna pam rydym ni heddiw wedi lansio tudalen ar ein gwefan i roi llwyfan i syniadau newydd, lle gall pobl fwydo mewn i’n proses ffurfio polisi.
Rydym yn agored i ystyried yr holl syniadau sy’n adlewyrchu ein gwerthoedd, ac rydym yn croesawu cyfraniadau o unrhyw faes sy’n effeithio ar y ffordd y mae pobl yn byw a fydd yn berthnasol i Gymru dros yr wythnosau, y misoedd a’r blynyddoedd nesaf. Os oes gennych chi syniad am sut y gall ein dyfodol fod yn well na’r gorffennol, hoffwn ei glywed. Ac os oes rhywbeth yr ydych chi’n teimlo y dylai Plaid Cymru fod yn ei wneud yn wahanol, rhowch wybod.
Mae gan bobl Cymru y gallu i adeiladu gwlad dda, hardd a charedig. Gadewch inni ei hadeiladu gyda’i gilydd.
