The White Hart – Llantwit Major / Llanilltud Fawr – 19:30, 4/6/19

Encouragingly the second branch meeting had an increased attendance from the first after the reforming of the branch, and much was discussed.

In the process of reforming the finance is in the process of being transferred to a new treasurer who is organising this.

In preparedness for meetings of the constituency committee the branch selected a new representative, the national Council is to be informed of these changes, and we shall also extend an invitation for a senior party member to attend our next meeting.

We will attend the Wick Fete and report back to the branch with a report and recommendation regarding Plaid Cymru’s possible presence at next year’s event.

The Victorian Fair in Llantwit Major is on 22nd June and the branch will have a stall, we will iron out the final details such as the location of the stall and the start time. We are hoping to meet old members and new and are hoping the weather is kind, although a Plaid gazebo should help in the event of rain.

We have organised a name the dragon and welsh doll competition with other fun activities such as a Welsh history quiz.

With regards to Plaid Cymru’s message, due to the nature of the event the branch will keep it simple and stick to three main messages, to hold attention and attract more people.

The Euro debrief by the branch had a few thoughts and observations which the branch will feed back this information to the Central office. In considering our late intervention with the reforming of the branch we were happy with our contribution in that regard.

It was reported that there is a need for building our presence in our area and it was decided that a local Plaid Cymru Newsletter that covers our position on local issues and updates. This would go out every 3 months members contributing to this, and to be delivered by the branch.

Co-ordination continues on Social Media accounts between them in order to keep everybody up to date and even perhaps attract more members, a twitter, twt and blog account are already operational. It was also noted that we could do this by writing letters to the Gem as a branch on local issues and generally raising our presence.

Mae’n galonogol bod ail gyfarfod y gangen wedi cael mwy o bobl na’r cyntaf ar ôl ail-dechrau’r gangen, ac roedd llawer i’w drafod.

Yn y broses o ailffurddio mae’r cyllid yn gael ei drosglwyddo i drysorydd newydd sydd yn trefnu hwn.

Wrth baratoi ar gyfer cyfarfodydd y pwyllgor etholaeth, dewisodd y gangen cynrychiolwr newydd, byddwn rhoi gwybod i’r Cyngor cenedlaethol am y newidiadau hyn, ac yn hefyd yn estyn gwahoddiad i uwch aelod o’r blaid i dod i’n cyfarfod nesaf.

Byddwn yn ymweld a Ffair y Wig ac yn adrodd yn ôl i’r gangen gydag adroddiad ac argymhelliad ynghylch presenoldeb posibl Plaid Cymru yn nigwyddiad y flwyddyn nesaf.

Mae’r Ffair Fictorianaidd yn Llanilltud Fawr ar 22 Mehefin a bydd gan y gangen stondin, byddwn yn datrys y manylion terfynol fel leoliad y stondin a’r amser cychwyn. Rydym yn gobeithio cwrdd â hen aelodau a newydd ac yn gobeithio bod y tywydd yn garedig, er ddylai gazebo Plaid Cymru helpu os bydd glaw…neu eira!

Rydym wedi trefnu cystadleuaeth enwy’r ddraig a’r ddol Gymraeg, gyda gweithgareddau hwyliog eraill fel cwis Hanes Cymru.

O ran neges Plaid Cymru, oherwydd natur y digwyddiad bydd y gangen yn ei chadw’n syml ac yn cadw at dair prif neges, er mwyn dal sylw a dynnu mwy o bobl.

Penderfynodd wrth trafod yr etholiad Ewropeaidd y gangen fod efo ni syniadau ac sylwadau i bwydo nol i’r swyddfa ganolog. Ond roeddwn hapus efo’n cyfraniad hwyr i’r ymgyrch.

Gwnaeth aelod adrodd bod angen adeiladu ein presenoldeb yn ein hardal a phenderfynwyd y byddai Cylchlythyr Plaid Cymru lleol sy’n cwmpasu ein safbwynt ar faterion lleol a diweddariadau cyffredinol. Byddai hyn yn mynd allan bob 3 mis a cytunodd ein aeoldau y byddent yn cyfrannu at hyn, ac yn cael eu bostio gan y gangen eu hun.

Mae dal trefniadau i wneud i gyfrifon Cyfryngau Cymdeithasol rhyngddynt er mwyn sicrhau bod pawb yn gyfoes a hyd yn oed yn denu mwy o aelodau, mae cyfrif twitter, twt a blog eisoes yn weithredol. Nodwyd hefyd fod y gallem wneud hyn drwy ysgrifennu llythyrau at papur Newydd y ‘Gem’ fel cangen ar faterion lleol a chodi ein presenoldeb yn gyffredinol.

Sunday was an historic evening.

For the first time in our party’s history, we beat Labour in a national election, and there is no doubt that the tectonic plates of Welsh politics are shifting.

With support for the Westminster establishment parties crumbling, this result puts us on a strong footing to form our country’s next government in 2021.

We now have an opportunity to redouble our campaigning efforts and to present ourselves to the people of Wales as a prospective government.

For many weeks, committed members like you across Wales have given generously of their time and energy to the European campaign to help share our message with people all over the country.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your work, your campaigning, and your ideas during these past weeks. This result would not have been possible without you.

The task before us all now is to keep up our energy, to take advantage of the momentum we have, and to aim towards forming a Plaid Cymru government in 2021.

The European election result also shows clearly that Brexit cannot be considered to be the settled will of the people. The only way out of this mess is to put the question back to the people.

Now that he knows the election result, Mark Drakeford has changed his mind about the People’s Vote. But he is completely transparent. It’s not Wales that’s on his mind, but chasing votes.

Plaid Cymru has been clear and consistent in our support for a People’s Vote and Remain. That’s a big part of why so many thousands of people voted Plaid Cymru for the first time in this election.

If you were one of them, we’d like to take a moment to thank you especially. We know supporting us won’t have been an easy decision, but we are so grateful to you for backing us.

Our message to you now is this: if you backed us this time, stick with us, and together we can build a new Wales in a new Europe.

Plaid Cymru’s success in this election is a big boost to the campaign for a People’s Vote and to keep Wales in the EU.

Let’s keep going now, and together, we can win a People’s Vote, we can win for Remain, and we can build a new Wales.

Roedd nos Sul yn noson hanesyddol.

Am y tro cyntaf yn hanes ein plaid, rydym wedi curo Llafur mewn etholiad cenedlaethol, a does dim dwywaith nawr fod platiau tectonig gwleidyddiaeth Cymru yn symud.

Gyda chefnogaeth i bleidiau sefydliad San Steffan yn crebachu, mae’r canlyniad hwn yn ein gosod ar sail gadarn iawn i ffurfio llywodraeth nesaf ein gwlad yn 2021.

Mae gennym gyfle nawr i ailddyblu ein hymdrechion ymgyrchu ac i gyflwyno ein hunain i bobl Cymru fel darpar-lywodraeth.

Ar draws Cymru, mae aelodau ymroddedig fel chi wedi rhoi yn hael o’u hamser a’u hegni i’r ymgyrch Ewropeaidd ers wythnosau er mwyn lledaenu ein neges gyda phobl Cymru.

Hoffem fachu ar y cyfle hwn i ddiolch i chi am eich gwaith, eich ymgyrchu, a’ch syniadau ar hyd yr wythnosau diwethaf. Ni fyddai’r canlyniad hwn wedi bod yn bosibl hebddoch chi.

Y dasg i bob un ohonom nawr yw i gadw’n hegni, manteisio ar y momentwm sydd gennym, ac anelu at ffurfio llywodraeth Plaid Cymru yn 2021.

Roedd canlyniad yr etholiad Ewropeaidd hefyd yn dangos yn glir na ellir ystyried Brexit fel ewyllys sefydlog y bobl. Yr unig ffordd allan o’r cawlach hyn nawr yw gosod y cwestiwn gerbron y bobl.

Nawr ei fod wedi gweld canlyniad yr etholiad, mae Mark Drakeford wedi newid ei feddwl am Bleidlais y Bobl. Ond mae ei gymhelliant yn gwbl dryloyw. Nid Cymru sydd yn ei feddwl, ond pleidleisiau.

Mae Plaid Cymru wedi bod yn glir ac yn gyson yn ein cefnogaeth i Bleidlais y Bobl a’r achos dros Aros. Mae hynny’n rhan fawr o’r rheswm pam i filoedd o bobl pleidleisio dros Blaid Cymru am y tro cyntaf yn yr etholiad hwn.

Os oeddech chi’n un ohonynt, hoffem gymryd moment i ddiolch ichi yn arbennig. Rydym yn gwybod na fydd cefnogi ni wedi bod yn benderfyniad hawdd, ond rydym yn ddiolchgar dros ben ichi am wneud.

Dyma ein neges i chi nawr: os cefnogoch chi ni y tro hwn, arhoswch gyda ni, a gyda’n gilydd gallwn adeiladu Cymru newydd mewn Ewrop newydd.

Mae llwyddiant Plaid Cymru yn yr etholiad yn hwb enfawr i’r frwydr dros Bleidlais y Bobl a thros gadw Cymru’n aelod o’r UE wedi derbyn hwb enfawr heno.

Dewch inni barhau yn awr a gyda’n gilydd, gallwn ennill Pleidlais y Bobl, gallwn ennill dros Aros, a gallwn adeiladu Cymru newydd.
